Kea features

The new Kea2 series NMR Spectrometer has many features that make it an ideal spectrometer a broad range of NMR systems from very low field permanent magnet systems to high frequency superconducting systems.

Main Features

  • A range of models enabling operation from DC to 400MHz
  • A modular design with several optional modules such as an internal amplifier or a four channel gradient driver module.
  • Optional second channel and high stability oven controlled oscillator
  • Available as a stand alone or OEM product.
  • Comes with the advanced Prospa software. This includes a programmable macro language which enables experiment and data processing to be combined into a single button click.
  • Small and lightweight, perfect for portable applications or where laboratory space is at a premium.

Shown above the Kea2 with a compact 30MHz Halbach magnet makes a complete ultra-compact spectrometer - present resolution 0.15ppm.

Pulse Programming

The Kea is controlled using Prospa software which easily allows users to create their own pulse sequences in a straightforward Matlab like language. The pulse sequences below are typical examples of what can quickly be generated.

High Stability Oscillator (Optional)

For applications requiring very stable operation the Kea has an optional oven controlled oscillator which provides a frequency stability of better than 1ppb/deg C. This is often needed for high frequency operation on superconducting magnets.

Second Transmit Channel (Optional)

The second transmit channel enables synchronized cross-polarization experiments and measurements. (Note that there is only a single receive channel)

Four Channel Gradient Driver Module (Optional)

The addition of the gradient driver module to the Kea, together with the standard Prospa software package that comes with it, makes for a complete and powerful MRI imaging system. The graphic below shows an example of some gradients written in Prospa and measured on the output of the gradient module.
