Our path so far

Background

Founded in 2004, Magritek is an advanced technology company exporting from New Zealand to customers all over the world. The initial NMR technology and IP used in Magritek products grew out of a decade of world-class research by teams at both Massey University and Victoria University of Wellington

In 2005, Magritek released the Terranova-MRI, the world's first and only 3D MRI-capable teaching system for students and teachers in a normal laboratory environment. MRI experiments can now safely be done anywhere -- the Terranova-MRI uses the Earth's magnetic field.

In 2006, Magritek released the compact, flexible Kea NMR spectrometer console. Kea can be used to build ultra-low frequency systems with permanent and superconductor magnets.

In 2008, Magritek and ACT produced the first NMR rock core analyser for the oil and gas industry to use the innovative Halbach magnet technology together with Magritek's advanced electronics and software. This technology allows a more efficient and open magnet structure.

Today, Magritek provides complete NMR and MRI system solutions for industrial applications, and components and subsystems suitable for research laboratories. Magritek has joint products and development projects with other leading technology companies, such as ACT in Aachen, Germany.

Magritek is headquartered in Wellington, New Zealand.
